I started this design as a test for some clear PLA, but a black screen would also be perfect for a powered-down PC. The idea was for the screen to come out clear enough that a tiny picture could be swapped in behind it and still be slightly visible. I've since learned that PLA is probably not the best material for that particular aspect, though. With the files as they're positioned (and without having clear PETG), the screen is more opaque and visibly layered than I would have wanted for the original concept, but it still makes for a great generic PC this way - the layer-y screen is reminiscent of a dot matrix/pixel-y type visual to me. I'd like to eventually do a more thorough redesign but for now, printing the screen on it's edge would give a result closer to a realistically shaped or potentially ‘clear’ screen. The monitor pieces sandwich together in a pretty basic and self-evident way. The stand holds the monitor in place but allows it to be twisted to other angles, like old PCs did. A drop of glue would help to lock everything down permanently, if you wanted.
