Gridfinity rebuilt bins can hold magnets with friction-fit only, without glue. Inserting the magnets can be a bit finicky though, especially if the model is configured to hold them snug. This jig makes inserting magnets easy. Each magnet only takes a few seconds. The model has two parts: A base to hold the bin and a stack of magnets, and a pushpin that pushes the magnet into the bin. The base can be printed without supports, the pushpin needs a support. The base plate is open to two sides for inserting magnets into larger bins. (New in V2) When assembling large bins, use one hand to push down the bin, and use the other hand to push the pushpin. One finger goes on the large bar on the base plate, the other just behind the main push pin. For 1x1 bins, I recommend pushing on the bin itself instead of the large bar, so that the force is aligned better. Optional: Below the magnet stack, there is room for a single magnet. If you place a magnet there in the correct alignment, the magazine will drop more easily. It also prevents accidental misalignment of the magnets. You don't need to double-check anymore. (New in V2) Optional: On the opposite side of the pushpin, there is a screw hole for an M3 screw, preferably 20mm. This prevents the assembly from falling apart when you pick it up. (New in V2) The workflow: Place bin Insert stack of magnets in the right orientation Push down firmly on magnet stack while the pin is outside Push the pin into the model firmly Rotate the bin 90° and repeat until all four magnets are inserted.
