The Heat Insert Press from BaGooN is a successful model: easy to print, easy to assemble, easy to maintain and easy to use. However, I was missing a way to store important things like the various tips and a few heat inserts directly with the press, so I created the following base with an integrated drawer. For the top surface, I used the Stealth Press model from Inconic FAB as an inspiration. Depending on the soldering iron used, the tip even hits the center of the circle. However, it may be slightly different with other holders, but that shouldn't be a problem ;-) Print bed dimensions of the base: 210 x 191,5 x 13,4 millimeters Print bed dimensions of the drawer: 194,3 x 186 x 20,6 millimeters Additional parts needed: The base and the drawer use three rectangular magnets 10x4x2 millimeters, which ensure a comfortable “snap in” and hold the drawer securely in place even when moving. The heat press itself is screwed in with four screws (M3, length approx. 20-25 millimeters). To do this, four heat inserts must be inserted into the underside of the base; the hole is 10 millimetres deep and has a diameter of 4 millimetres. Nine small silicone feet with a diameter of 10 millimeters can be placed on the underside to ensure a non-slip stand. If you don't have self-adhesive feet to hand, you can also print your own feet with TPU. Print settings: Printing is easy and should work with any nozzle and any layer height, but I suggests a layer height of 0.2 mm. Nothing special for the top and bottom of the base. No supports required, but you can use some for the silicone feet placeholders for the bottom part or the circle area of the top part if you prefer. The drawer has a tolerance of 0.2 mm for the perimeter and 0.4 mm for the height, which should fit. Unfortunately, the knob requires support. The circle has a tolerance of 0.15 millimeters. If this does not fit, use the XY compensation in the slicer. The circle can be printed quickly so that several variants can be printed at the same time. Build the base: Assembly should be simple and self-explanatory. First insert the heat inserts into the underside (as straight as possible!), then the magnets can be placed in the openings on the underside and fixed in place with a little glue. Then insert the magnets into the drawer with the correct polarity and also fix them in place with a little glue - this is easier if the base is not yet holding together. Finally, apply glue to the underside (surfaces and connecting pins), place the top side on top and press together with clamps until completely dry. I intentionally didn't use screws so as not to have so many openings on the underside ;-) Once everything is dry and secure, you can attach the heat press body to the base with four screws. Variations of the model: The top is also available without a pattern and ring. But it is lame. ;) The lower part of the base is available with or without placeholder openings for silicone feet. I have also created and uploaded various inserts for the drawer with different arrangements and sizes of compartments. There is also a drawer without compartments so that you can add your own compartments in the slicer if you want. I have also uploaded the STEP files of my standard version.
